Salon Effects!

Okay, so I know it took forever but I FINALLY! FINALLY, purchased my Sally Hansen Salon Effects!  I bought the box at wal-mart for $8.50, they came out to $9.01 with tax, which isn't bad when it comes to comparing it to the price I would pay at the salon.

Applying these was kinda easy, it required some patience but once I got them on I knew I was doing something right!  I watched a couple of videos on YouTube to make sure I wasn't going to waste my money and those definitely helped! I even used one of the girls ideas and used the sames trip for both hands! which means I still have a whole nother set of strips to use whenever I feel like having the same design again!  That made me really happy :):):)

Here's a picture of the finished product and let me tell you, I'm in LOVE!
These are the Collide-O-Scope ones, LOVE THEM!

Also, after applying these and seeing several patterns, I definitely think I'm going to enter their contest! I've got some fun ideas...

sally hansen salon effects

so, today I'm off to buy the salon effects strips that are advertised by sally hansen.  I just found out about a contest that they are promoting to create your own salon effects style and I am definitely going to enter!  The winner gets a trip to New York City, a free makeover, and gets to see Rihanna in concert! This is something that I personally don't want to miss out on!! In the mean time, I'm hoping and praying that wal-mart carries the kitty kitty style that I want, I love animal print!!

I'll update with pictures later!

pink!

sorry for the lack of postage, I've been busy for the past couple of days..

I took off my reverse french manicure because it chipped.. and I can't STAND the look of chipped nail polish and painted my nails a barbie car pink! I got the nail polish from forever 21 for $3.80 which isn't that bad at all!

Reverse French manicure

Since I'm still in college my nail polish brand choices are usually in the $.96-$6 range. Usually as long as the brand has the color I want and is at a decent price, I'll buy it! I have a very wide variety in my handy nail polish box; from Sally Hansen (all styles), funky fingers, china glaze, rimmel... I could keep going, but I've come to notice the cheaper brands I have don't last as long and usually end up clumpy by the end of a couple months. I'm really interested in the adhesive nail strips, I bought a box of the broadway ones and they didnt even last a shower :(, my next trip to the store I'm probably going to try the sally Hansen salon effects! They come in a variety of patterns but I'm of course in love with the cheetah print ones!

I usually stick (no pun intended!) to painting my nails myself, but I believe that the adhesive ones seem to be a lot quicker (when it comes to drying time I'm really impatient and end up ruining my nails!), and less messy. As soon as I buy a package of the Sally Hansen brand I'll post a picture! For now I'll show you my reverse french manicure, it looks difficult to do but is so simple! All you need is two colors you like and some hole reinforcements cut in half! Seventeen magazine offers a really helpful YouTube video, just type in reverse French manicure!

Here's a picture of the finished product:
The green color I used is by China Glaze, called four leaf clover
The color that looks gold but is actually a pink glitter polish (I think the four leaf clover made it this way) is by finger paints, called hue left a message.

Super simple and super cute!

day 01.

I've loved nail polish since I was really little, I blame it on my grandma.  I'll never forget admiring how perfectly manicured her nails were, especially because she always did it herself!  Ever since then, I would always paint my nails myself, always finding new nail polish colors that my friends would admire.  Since I have such a love for nail polish, I decided to blog about it and give reviews on what I think are the best brands out there! If nails are involved I will be blogging about it.
